Ultrasound therapy is a chiropractic treatment used to help reduce muscle pain and increase range of motion. By using sound waves, we are able to stimulate deep inside the tissue. This minimizes stiffness, swelling, and pain while also promoting circulation, and pain-free movement.
This is a popular treatment because it is non-invasive, painless procedure that achieves results for people dealing with chiropractic issues.
There are two different types of Ultrasound therapy we do. Trigger Point Ultrasound work is a combination of electrical impulse plus ultrasound. It causes a very slight contraction of the muscle. When the head of the ultrasound is moved onto the point of pain the concept is to stay on that spot for a couple of seconds while it dissipates. Regular Ultrasound therapy is designed to get the muscle to relax and bring down inflammation within or around the joint. We do this in slow circle movements on the area.
